Intelligent Sequencing*
Friday May 2, 2025 5:30pm - 7:30pm MDT
Do you wonder if you're ordering poses in the best way when you practice yoga or teach students? Do you struggle to go deeper into yoga poses? Learning to sequence with intelligence will be an absolute game changer for those practicing at home, or teachers designing classes that want to help their students get into postures safely and sufficiently warmed up. What is intelligent sequencing? It's the ordering of each pose thoughtfully under the premise that the proceeding pose warms the body up for the pose that comes next. Once you learn how to order poses through an anatomical lens then you're sequencing with intelligence. Join me for an insightful and informative workshop that will empower your practice and/or teaching. Yoga Alliance CEU Hour Certificate available upon request.

“Breathing is the first act of life and the last. Our very life depends on it.” Joseph Pilates The use of breath was an integral part of Joseph Pilates’ teaching. Joseph Pilates was a pioneer in recognizing how the breath could be used to facilitate movement and how posture affected respiration. He stated that the complete exhalation and inhalation of air, stimulated all muscles into greater activity and recharged the body. He used exercises such at the 100 and rolling like a ball to force air around the body, with the idea of cleansing the body. This, he said, “is the equivalent of an internal shower. Correct breathing was such a fundamental part his exercises and teachings, that his students included “Breath” into one of the 6 Principles of Pilates. This workshop with explore breath, or pranayama through a traditional pilates class. We can then draw parralels of the impact of breath in all facets of our lives. Breath enhances relaxation, improves posture, and increases our muscles range of moiton.

Life got you worn to a frazzle? It turns out there is rest for the weary. Get a dose of calm, grounding energy at Yin & Kava – A Relaxation Revolution Kava, a revered plant from the South Pacific, has long been used in rituals of celebration and connection. The root’s kavalactones offer a profound gift: a calm, relaxed, and easygoing state of mind. This powerful plant ally can: • Soothe intense emotions • Release deep muscle tension • Offer a gentle, euphoric lift • Foster meaningful community connection At Yin & Kava, we’ll begin with a ceremonial experience, sharing the kava beverage together to set the tone for relaxation and renewal. Then, we’ll drop into a yin yoga practice designed to amplify kava’s tension-melting effects. In yin yoga, we hold each pose for 3-5 minutes, inviting deep surrender and mindful awareness. This pairing allows you to fully let go of external stress and turn inward to reconnect with your source of well-being. Step out of the chaos and into stillness.
